New Year Resolutions: The 2007 Edition

People tend to get carried away with these things. Sprouting off things obscure and unreasonable. Making promises to keep something they can likely not accomplish in the next five years, let alone in the year 2007 alone. As much as I like being optimistic, chances are I will not accomplish everything on my list. In fact if I succeed in doing one of these things, I will be a happy man and label this year a success. With that said, I did however, try to make my goals reachable and realistic. I believe I have a good shot of making 2007 THE BEST YEAR EVER!! (1st resolution is stop typing in caps.)

I. Be a Gentleman
I’ve come to the conclusion (I believe I am not the first) that girls hate nice guys.
But to be fair, there are hardly any genuine nice guys around. Quite the predicament, I know.
Despite all this, I am going to do my best to be classy. Not only in manners, but in style. That means more fedora hats, wing tip shoes, more fancy jackets, the whole kitten caboodle. I got poetry in me, it’s time to show it.

II. Go After My Passions
I love film. I love making films, editing films, and the whole process of video.
But I never make an active movement with it. I have the equipment at my disposal here at school, I have many like minded friends who are also interested, it’s time to make a step forward with this. That and I really need to finish and send those Camp Sparky Videos out. Oi zoi oi!

III. Read a Book a Month.
I believe the majority of people enjoy reading. There is nothing like reading a well put together book.
That said, finding the time and actually doing it is the problem. I’m not the quickest reader in the west, so I believe if I start small I can build my way up. A simple plan of a book a month should give me plenty of time to make it through a book, without feeling overBOOKed, while also giving me a limit so I don’t forget about it. (Get it?! BOOK. overBOOKed?! Yeah alright. New new year resolution, come up with better jokes.)

IV. Get Famous
I’m still sticking to what I said earlier, about my goals being realistic and reachable.
Really, it just needs to happen. I need to hurry up and make this a reality before it’s too late, and I lose my innocent adorableness.
I mean how do I not have my own sitcom on the Disney Channel already? Seriously.
I mean that’s… That’s so raven…
IV.B Which reminds me. Use the phrase “That’s so Raven” a lot more.

V. Find Mr. T
It’s about time to complete my life goal. If I’m going to go around proclaiming myself as the second coming of Mr. T then I need to follow through with it. Mr. T wouldn’t put up with my Jibba Jabba.
I need to find a place I can write him, pour out my heart and soul, send him my heart song and music video “Mister T” and we need to tour the world together, Mr. T and Millennium T. Fighting Crime before dinner time! The passing of another hero, the Godfather of Soul, James Brown made me realize I won’t have forever!

VI. Exercise.
You know it had to be on here. Can you even have a New Year’s Resolution list without it?
Although I feel like such an middle aged woman saying this, but really I need to.
I haven’t hit the gym since High School. I think what happened was that in High School I was forced to. (like most things in HS)
That and since I participated in football, wrestling, and track I was always active and busy.
But now that I don’t have a competitive sport to play in anymore (unless 80’s dancing counts) I have rebelled against the gym.
I’ll just pick a day and that will be workout day, no matter what. It’s all about habit.
If I can remember Naked Thursday, I can do this. (and Ill be looking good on naked Thursday!)

VII.Go on a Date. (with a girl)
I’m in college now. (real college anyways)
So I should go on a date, with a girl.
or something.
Don’t people do this? I think this is something kids my age do.
I’m unsure though since I’m straight edge (I dunno what that means. Douglas told me to tell people that.)

VIII. Make an Album
I have more than enough songs. To be honest, I think a lot of them are more than decent.
The problem is I don’t have beats or music for them. And instead of being active and finding people who can help me with this, I let it sit.
No more. I will have a full album by the end of 2007. Anyone who can help me with this plllleeease contact me!

IX. Seasonal Fasting
It’s important to clear my mind, body and soul.
Not only from food, but also from the Western World.
So no TV or Internet as well.
I already planned my first one for Friday, so I won’t be on the internet for a while.
Although I have done more before, I believe 3 days is a good number.
I thought it would be fitting to read a book on Ghandi for the first one.

X. Save Camp SPARKY SPARKY is a summer camp for special needs children. Strike that, it’s more than a summer camp.
It’s a family gathering. Ask anyone who has worked there and they will say those children are your little brothers and sisters. And my family is in danger of being destroyed. I WILL NOT, let this happen. If that means running the place myself, in my backyard so be it. If it means raising money, it will be done.
This is one goal that I will not allow myself to fail at!
I’ll keep everyone updated on how they can help.

XI. Continue to be Aware and Ask Questions
Question society’s norms.
Why do I need to drink? Why do I need a house with a little white picket fence?
Be aware of my emotions and why I am feeling a certain way.
Consider others and their feelings. Appreciate the beauty that is around me.
Continue to be aware and ask questions.

XII. Volunteer in Another Country Again.
Volunteering at orphanages in Vietnam was one of the most satisfying and enjoyable experiences of my life. I would love to do this in other countries in the world. Africa, India are two of my choices, but I am still searching. Anyone know of a place I should visit?

XIII. Make a List all in Roman Numerals.
One down, 12 to go.

See the year is a big success already =)

How I met Colin Mochrie

Saw him and the other “whose liners” He was nice enough to stay after the show and chat and sign stuff. Very funny stuff!

How I met David Sedaris

He did a reading at my college Western Washington. He read very dirty things the entire night, unaware that it was “family night” at the college that weekend, so many students were with their family as he told about looking through “animal sex” magazines.
He signed my books, and asked a lot of questions and joked around a lot with my group of friends and I. VERY MUCH WORTH SEEING LIVE, and be sure to stay and chat after the show, he’s worth it!

Why I want to meet MillenniumT

because he wants to go to Australia…and this is my biggest dream too. and this dream will soon come true…now I’m packing my suitcase and trying to book a hotel (it’s not so easy, but i found a list of cheap hotels, if you go there use this).

Why I want to meet ridda

She’s a royal princess. That picture in the tierra gets me every time.

Why I admire MillenniumT

He has the coolest music video in the world!

Why I like MillenniumT

Who couldn’t love a guy with a mug shot like that?!
